GALLERI BLUNK 2 – 4 October 2015

Stripe, curtain, grid. Box, wave, flag.

Painting and it´s history are present in Antti Nyyssöläs work. In Galleri Blunk he shows ethereal pieces carefully composed out of everyday trash. The works are collages placing in between abstract and figurative, painting and a sculpture. Some are painted on canvas built from corrugated cardboard and corrugated iron, in others the paint as material has been replaced with adhesive tape.
Sublime, dull and worn out motifs that turned into empty manners long ago have been opened up for new approaches. From hollowness raises the chance to re-evaluate the concept of real.
Antti Nyyssölä (1982) graduated from Academy of Fine Arts Helsinki in 2013. He has also studied in Universität der Künste Berlin. Beside traditional art institutions he has also presented his works and curated group exhibitions in squatted alternative spaces. His works are included in collections such as Helsinki city Art museum, State collection of Finland and Finnish Art association.

The Exhibition has been supported by Arts Promotion Centre Finland and Oskar Öflunds Stiftelse.
